Who will Emma be with in Lord of Shadows? Here are a couple snippets and accompanying Cassandra Jean pictures of the two ships:
TDA’s Lord of Shadows release date is May 23, 2017! Here are a couple snippets featuring two duos of the book: Clary and Emma and Kit and Ty:
Clary and Emma:
There was a long silence. Clary looked out toward the dark water, biting her lip. Finally, she spoke. “Jace asked me to marry him.”
“Oh!” Emma had already begun opening her arms to hug the other girl when she caught sight of Clary’s expression. She froze. “What’s wrong?”
Kit and Ty:
The release date for Lord of Shadows (TDA book #2) is May 23, 2017! Here’s the placeholder cover and a couple snippets:
This snippet focuses on Anna Lightwood, daughter of Gabriel and Cecily Lightwood, in The Last Hours, the first of which (Chain of Gold) is set to come out in 2017. Cassandra Jean has also done a drawing of Anna Lightwood I have included.
These pictures were drawn by PhantomRin, a brilliant artist on Tumblr. She does lots of drawings for different series, such as the Cassandra Clare novels, Red Rising by Pierce Brown, The Grisha Trilogy by Leigh Bardugo, Throne of Glass by Sarah J. Maas, The Raven Cycle by Maggie Stiefvater, and more! I could tell you all I know about her, but she was one step ahead of me in posting a picture about herself, so I’ll let it describe her!
Here are the ship pictures she did for The Shadowhunter Chronicles…
If you remember from Lady Midnight, Kit Rook actually turned out to be Kit Herondale, the Lost Herondale. And Tiberius Blackthron is one of the 15-year-old twins of the Los Angeles Institute. Apparently, Kit and Ty are going to be pretty close for the rest of The Dark Artifices. Cassandra Clare comments, “Kit and Ty are planned to have a really significant relationship. That is literally all I can say. I genuinely feel anything else is a spoiler.” She posted this snippet with her comment on the pair:
This is a snippet from the second book in The Dark Artifices, set to come out April 2017! It has a good description of the King of the Seelie Court, who I have a feeling will play a big part in The Dark Artifices books to come. Also included is a drawing of the King by Cassandra Jean!
I heard a song a while ago that describes the relationship between Jem and Will to a T. It is called “Circles”, written by Passenger. You may know him from “Let Her Go”, which was popular last year (You only need the light when it’s burning low, only miss the sun when it starts to snow, only know you love her when you let her go). Anyway, even the title “Circles” reminds me of them, for Jem believes we live in circles. He believes we die and undergo rebirth, connected to the souls of those we loved in our past lives. Here is the song with the lyrics so you can read them as you listen, plus some Cassandra Jean art!
